So it wasn't a poorly written book and parts of it were really amusing. The supporting cast was entertaining and the dialogue was punchy and fun. I really wanted to like it all. However, the third act killed the story for me. I believed Georgina as a heroine, I believed in her business, I even believed her jumping into a one night stand with Quinn, although I'm not sure his sudden obsession with her rang true to me. I totally accepted Quinn as a spoiled and entitled Rock Star because rock star. And, okay, I wasn't totally on-board with their instant chemistry and lust, but whatever. If young Adam Ant said he wanted me to meet him on the balcony in 10 minutes, hell yeah I'd go. So that was good. I enjoyed that (even if some of the formatting was off - scene changes are not well-marked and it sometimes threw me).
What I did not believe and what ruined the story for me was the implausible engagement fiasco and even more unbelievable discovery of someone's true identity. That person had been through so much physically and really? No scars??? I hate spoilers, so I'm being cryptic, but very little of this characters motivations for his/her behavior made sense to me. Up until then, though, I was going with it, so, ya know, to each her own I suppose. I just wish the author had put a little more thought into that third act so it lined up better with the first two.

Strings Attached An unputdownable rock star romance with a thrilling twist! edition by Mandy Baggot Arts Photography eBooks Reviews

My introduction to this author! Enjoyed the story. A bit disappointed with the ending abrupt, unfinished and too pat. However, I will read more from her.
I liked this book. It was quirky and some of the minor characters like Helen and Marisa had me laughing out loud. George was a delightful heroine, but Quinn did get on my nerves when he couldn't commit to her fully in the middle of the book. The food in the book had me drooling at times. Some recipes at the back would be wonderful...hint hint.
Although unrealistic, the story does drag you in and make you wonder what could possibly happen next. Few editing errors made it an easy read since you didn't have to decipher grammar or spelling errors. The ending Was a bit abrupt and there were a couple of unanswered questions that were not addressed. If they had been and not left me hanging, I would have given a higher score. Overall, an enjoyable read.
This was my first book Mandy and I really enjoyed it! No spoilers here...Rockstar Quinn & Caterer George had an amazing connection and I loved reading about them! This wasn't your typical romance had some twists along the way. Cute, funny, emotional with baggage & steamy love scenes! George has barriers up and Quinn has to work to break through them. At first he seems like the typical rock star but slowly shows who he really is! I couldn't put it down until I was finished!!
Just finished this book tonight, this could have been a five star book. I figured out who was who early on but the writing was good enough for me to keep going.

Three stars due to the unanswered questions at the abrupt ending and the lack of complexity with the secrets that dragged on through the book. They were good but not enough to lend to the drama at hand.

I liked the characters and the story itself, it's fiction so it can be unrealistic as long as it's told properly!
I really enjoyed this book. I love how they were drawn to each other though they didn't know why, and they fell in love all over again. The only negative is the accident story line. Why was it important to keep it a secret? And why didn't his father look for him? And what happened to his mother? And why no scars? I need more backstory!! Other than that, I love a good romance and how true love never really dies. If you want a sweet love story (no descriptive sex) with a happily ever after (no cliff hanger) I recommend story.
Strings Attached is miles better than the two Baggot books I read previously. The cover, the writing, the plot, it all seemed to be on a higher level than her other books I've read. The plot isn't necessarily one that rubs me up the right way - George embarking on a relationship with the very much engaged Quinn Blake, but excusing my distaste at George's complete lack of self-respect and feminism, and putting the whole affair thing to one side... Well, I enjoyed it. I mean, I didn't agree with it. I don't like it personally. But the plot is very enjoyable, despite my personal feelings. I may not agree, but I'm perfectly capable of reading a book about an affair and I felt Baggot got it right.

One thing Baggot likes to do is to make her novels a bit more over the top than most Chick Lit writers. I mean that in a good way. There were some plot lines that I saw coming and some I didn't and one thing that connects them all, is that they're all very soap-opera-ish. Mandy Baggot likes her drama and Strings Attached was filled with it. The biggest plot twist that came, I didn't see coming at all. I'm not entirely sure it's realistic per se but for the sake of the plot and because it was such an awesome twist (that I did not see coming!!!) I am well able to just believe in the magic of it all. I mean, I rarely get beaten by a plot and I usually have it all mapped out perfectly, so kudos to Mandy Baggot for surprising me. I even think I may have gasped out loud.

I found the characters fascinating. Despite the fact George is a disgrace to women - really, she is; she quite happily sleeps with a man who's engaged, using the excuse that it's "his problem not hers"(!) - I liked her. That probably makes no sense, but I dunno, part of me wanted George to just carry on, although another part of me wanted her to grow a pair and give an ultimatum. It was like a see-saw, was my relationship with George. The other members of Finger Food, the catering company George owns, were awesome. I loved Marisa, George's employee and her mum Helen. I liked Adam, George's brother, too. Quinn was more complicated. At times, he was a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde character. There were times he was nice and lovely, then there were times he went completely nuts. Swearing, getting angry... I mean, wow. It was strange at times and it did seem that his anger was a bit OTT at times and it really should have been dealt with. He needed anger management.

Strings Attached flowed nicely. Sure, some of it was a bit over the top and very Dallas-like/soap-opera-like with its pronouncements and the way things were uncovered, but overall I enjoyed the read. Strangely, in my copy, all the swear words are starred out which kind of... Well, it's very strange. If you want to swear in a novel, you should either just do it or you just shouldn't do it. Starring the words out is not going to cut it and I did rather inwardly cringe every time a swear word was uttered. I would fix that. But, yes, I really liked Strings Attached. Much more enjoyable than the other Baggot books I've read and it seems her writing has definitely gone up a level. I will be keeping an eye out for her next book and I'd definitely recommend Strings Attached.
