Entertaining. Tule Publishing could/should do a far better job of proofreading - every book I've read from Tule Pub. contains numerous errors: in grammar, in punctuation, in spelling, in jumbled phrases, in incorrect character names (e.g., "FRED' did whatever when it actually was "CHARLIE'), in use of the wrong form of a word (e.g., STEEL when it should be STEAL) and in use of foreign (to American English) words/expressions by characters who are born and raised in America in stories that are taking place in America. This is true of both the print and electronic novels from Tule. I often feel an urge to get out a red pencil and start making corrections. Sometimes the errors are so numerous in a section that I lose track of the immediate plot while trying to figure out what the author must have intended to happen in that section. It is quite aggravating.Tags : Bride by Mistake (Big Sky Brides Book 1) - Kindle edition by Nicole Helm. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Bride by Mistake Big Sky Brides Book 1 edition by Nicole Helm Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was a very short romance novella. The premise was very good but was never fully explored. Kaitlyn had everything in her life planned to the nth degree. She knew who she planned to marry in third grade and still believed that when she was 25 years old. When the love of her life married her younger sister she was so hurt she couldn't think. Beckett, Kaitlin's brother best friend, was seduced by Kaitlin the night of the wedding. He had been sweet on her for several years but she was his best friend younger sister? Luke, Kaitlin's brother and Beckett's best friend, was a jerk who believed the worst of Beckett. There was little or no character development. Back stories for the characters was non-existent. The best character was Becketts's grandmother who unfortunately was dead. If this review makes no sense, it's because the book made none. The dual pov wasn't well done. Sometimes, you had no idea who was speaking and their thoughts were all over the place.
The ending was rushed which left so much unresolved. Why would Kaitlin love someone and plan to marry him when there was never a relationship? Perhaps she was bipolar? Why didn't Kaitlin's family know of her obsession? Why was Beckett considered the bad seed? Why did Luke believe the worst of Beckett even though they were in business together? Why was Luke often drunk and angry?
The answers to those questions, more plot and character development, more back stories and a better editing job would have made the book so much better. I wanted to rate this book lower but I read the book in one sitting hoping it would get better.
Poor Beckett, the hero. He is an ex bad-boy in a small town that won't let it go. He has the misfortune of rescuing the Kaitlyn, the dweeby heroine, at her sister's wedding. She's been in love forever with the man her sister just married.
She and Beckett have sex and she gets pregnant her first time. She waffles back and forth on what his involvement should be with the baby, making him feel like nothing. Compound this with Beckett's ex-best friend and ex-partner who thinks Beckett stole $1000 from their company.
I don't hold much happiness in store for Beckett as NOBODY gives him the benefit of the doubt. That plus dropped threads EVERYWHERE make for sloppy writing unless they are resolved in the next book.
What is going on ......... this book started with so much promise and fizzled out like a wet squib! After Kaitlin and Brett sleep together this story goes downhill at lightning speed........Kate is a virgin and becomes pregnant the night she loses her virginity to Brett and he has no idea she was a virgin when he slept with her? Even my over active imagination cannot stretch that far. The editing is a problem too, his instead of hers and vice versa, leaves me wondering if I am missing something. I truly felt as though I was at the dentist having teeth pulled and the sudden ridiculous ending made me feel as though I had slipped and fallen on my behind! I read it from start to finish but that is it only 1 Star from me.......you need to read it for yourself and perhaps you will find what I definitely missed!
Kaitlin Shuller has loved Carter McArthur since she was ten years old. She has planned her whole life around him, making decisions based on what Carter and the McArthurs would want. And today Carter is getting married - to her little sister, her flighty little sister, Sierra. It is not to be borne. As soon as she can get away, she is going to cut loose; no more Goody Two Shoes for her. And who better to bust out with than Beckett Finley, the town's bad boy.
As long as Beckett could remember, this town had looked down on him. Even his own parents hadn't wanted him. He had been dumped on his grandmother to raise. She had loved him and had done her best to raise him right. His only friend in the town was Luke Shuller. But now that was all changed. He'd always liked Kate, Luke's sister, although she never really looked at him because of Carter. Now she wanted to get drunk and go to bed with him. Not going to happen. But how can he resist the girl he's wanted for so long?
Kate was a mixed-up girl. She had to come to understand that she loved the idea of Carter more than Carter himself. Beckett had to learn to fight for what he wanted, not just accept people's perceptions.
This was an enjoyable book with a satisfying ending. I recommend it. Try it. I think you'll like it.
